01The take

The Decade.

Ten years in — the format shaking off pandemic constraints and finding its footing again.
02The shape of the season

A rhythm worth tracking.

Season twenty arrived as the streaming era's first full-production cycle after two years of constraint. The tenth anniversary gave the season occasion, and the return to standard conditions was tangible — the blind auditions had the live-audience energy the format depends on. Nick Jonas in his second coaching cycle brought more assurance than his interrupted debut. A recovery season, placed just above the bubble year.

03Where it sits in the canon

The #24 slot.

Slot #24 of 29 in the The Voice Editor's Canon. The seasons on either side show what I ranked it against.
