The mid-run season that leaned into summer

The Hamptons Pivot

Season six stretches the franchise's geography, moving from the Manhattan social circuit out to the Hamptons and then to St. Barths. Kristen Taekman joins the cast, and the season finds its energy in the friction between summer-house proximity and city-built personalities.

01The take

The Hamptons Pivot.

The Hamptons as pressure cooker. The cast performs better when they can't escape each other.
02The shape of the season

A rhythm worth tracking.

Season six finds its footing outside Manhattan. The Hamptons setting tightens the social world the way a group house always does — the usual city escape routes disappear and the cast has to sit with each other. Kristen Taekman's arrival adds a fresh point of friction without disrupting the cast's established chemistry. The St. Barths trip carries enough heat to anchor the back half. A solid mid-run entry, not trying to reinvent the wheel.

03Where it sits in the canon

The #09 slot.

Slot #09 of 15 in the Real Housewives of New York City Editor's Canon. The seasons on either side show what I ranked it against.
