The Real Housewives of Dubai

2 seasons. Expat wealth, Gulf glamour, and a cast that plays for keeps.

July 2026Canon revised

Bravo's Dubai chapter brings the franchise's most explicitly wealthy social world to screen — four years of expat status games and Gulf-set glamour, working through a social register no sibling franchise had filmed before.

01 · WHO

Who ranks it

tiered.tv's editor. RHODubai is two seasons deep and both are now ranked, weighed for how clearly the show's international expat wealth and Gulf-set social world comes through from one season to the next. I watch for the friction, not the finish line, and for whether the cast's chemistry still feels earned.

02 · HOW

How I weigh it

Three things matter most here — whether Dubai's international expat social world reads as genuinely specific rather than a generic Housewives backdrop, whether the wealth-and-status tension generates real friction rather than sitting as scenery, and whether the founding cast brings enough chemistry to sustain a season.

03 · WHEN

When I revisit

Both of Dubai's aired seasons are ranked now, with season two settled just ahead of the founding entry. That's not a fixed verdict — a rewatch or a strong third season could easily move things again. Expect real movement here as more of Dubai's run gets seeded into the canon.

The New Addition

Season 2 · 2024 · Dubai, United Arab Emirates

The season that pushed the show's wealth-and-status world past Dubai's borders and found firmer footing doing it.

Season two earns the top spot because it does what a strong sophomore season should: it takes the debut's premise and pushes it somewhere the first season couldn't reach. One new full-time cast member joins five returning founders, and the show lets that shift genuinely change the group's chemistry rather than just adding a new face to old scenes. The mid-season trip to Bali is the clearest evidence — it strips away Dubai's home-court advantage and asks the cast's wealth-and-status dynamics to hold up somewhere unfamiliar, and they do. The season also runs longer and reads more confident scene to scene than the debut ever did. That's a real claim on the top slot, not a scheduling accident.

Why this slot
Five of the founding six return, joined by one new full-time cast member, and a mid-season trip to Bali pulls the wealth-and-status tension out of Dubai's controlled environment. The season reads more assured than the debut.

Season 1

Season 1 · 2022 · Dubai, United Arab Emirates

The founding season that gave the franchise its Gulf-set international wealth story.

Season one keeps its place as the show's foundation, not because it's been surpassed on execution but because it's the version of RHODubai everything else gets checked against. The founding six establish the international expat wealth-and-status world with the confidence of a cast that clearly knows why it belongs on screen, and every scene commits to the specificity of an expat wealth story no sibling franchise had told before. Season two edges ahead on chemistry and format range, but season one did the harder job first — it proved the premise could carry a season at all. That work doesn't age out of the canon; it just moves down one spot.

Why this slot
Six women enter Dubai's expat elite — a wealth-and-status world built on international money rather than old-versus-new local money. The cast is confident for a debut, and the season sets the terms for everything RHODubai becomes.

Away from home turf

Some formats run their whole season on one fixed set — a brokerage floor, a share house, a single city. These are the seasons that broke from it on purpose, sending the whole cast somewhere unfamiliar for a week to see what the group was actually built on.

Reunion specials that closed the loop

The reunion hour as a craft job — done well across Survivor, Drag Race, The Challenge, Top Chef, The Traitors, and Real Housewives. Closings that sat the right cast on stage, asked the right questions, and hit the altitude the season had earned.

New flags, planted fast

Every spinoff and international adaptation gets one freshman season to plant its flag before the audience decides it belongs. These are the launches that built an identity of their own from minute one.

The cast arrived pre-famous

Casting stopped hunting for pure unknowns somewhere in the back-half of the 2010s and started recruiting people the audience had already half-met — a modeling career, a broadcast job, a following earned somewhere else entirely.

The couch kept adding chairs

A Real Housewives cast is never a fixed headcount — a franchise can add three new full-timers in one season and cut the roster in half the next. This ranks the swings that reshaped the group hardest, one Bravo city at a time.

Wealth as the whole pitch

Some seasons compete on drama alone. These lead with the mansion, the yacht, or the listing — real estate and lifestyle doing marketing work a synopsis usually handles, long before the cast opens a single door.
