The Debut.
The foundation everything in the Atlanta franchise builds on.
A rhythm worth tracking.
Five women, one city, no precedent for what an Atlanta Housewives season could be. The debut cast — each with a distinct relationship to Atlanta's social hierarchy and a different idea of what the cameras were there to document — arrived with more than enough to fill a first season. The show was still discovering its format, which gives the season an unpolished texture. That roughness is part of what makes it worth watching: the foundation laid in plain sight.
The #05 slot.
Slot #05 of 5 in the Real Housewives of Atlanta Editor's Canon. The seasons on either side show what I ranked it against.
