Florence.
The one season with no boardwalk in sight — a Tuscan apartment standing in for the shore house.
A rhythm worth tracking.
MTV sends the full Seaside Heights cast to Florence for a summer, the only season in the show's run filmed entirely outside the United States. The same seven roommates from the prior season return with no additions or departures, so the house dynamic carries over intact even as the setting changes completely. Cobblestone streets and a language barrier replace the boardwalk, and the format holds up fine away from home turf.
The #04 slot.
Slot #04 of 6 in the Jersey Shore Editor's Canon. Florence is the show's one real swing at reinvention, and it lands as a solid, if not spectacular, entry. MTV sends the entire cast overseas for the only time in the series' run, the same seven roommates from the prior season with no additions or departures to recalibrate around. The house dynamic carries over intact, which is both the season's strength and its ceiling: nothing about the group changes, so the novelty comes entirely from the location. Cobblestone streets and a language barrier replace the boardwalk, and the format holds up fine away from home turf, even if the location is doing most of the heavy lifting.
