The first step up. Season 2 drops the soft filter from the pilot and shoots like a finished show, with a larger cast and an edit that knows where the tension is. RuPaul Charles hosts the last season before Michelle Visage joined the main panel, so the judge's table keeps its early lineup. The workroom runs hot and confrontational, giving the season a charge the first run never found. Rough in places, but the franchise's personality surfaces here.
