Thailand, round two.
Phuket already delivered one of the franchise's best seasons once, and a new yacht gives this trip a clean start. The real test isn't the location or the vessel — it's whether a deck and interior crew that's mostly new to each other can generate the kind of friction that made the first Phuket run work.
A new yacht, a settled captain.
The new yacht, Azul V, replaces Season 12's St. David, giving the production a different boat to work with in the same Phuket waters the franchise visited once before. Chief Stew Fraser Olender, Second Stew Rainbeau de Roos, and Chef Moe Vilomar all return to anchor the interior and galley departments, while the deck crew and the rest of interior report in mostly new — the roster change this season actually has to prove out.
The #08 slot.
Slot #08 of 13 in the Below Deck Editor's Canon. Phuket's premise clears a higher bar than Antigua's on location pedigree alone — a setting that already produced one of the franchise's best seasons. Antigua's own entry argues reliability over novelty, disclaiming any visual distinction; Phuket's Andaman Sea backdrop has no such disclaimer to make. But it sits below the BVI. That season's rank was never about location — it earned its slot through sharper captain authority and stronger cast dynamics, ground Phuket can't claim with no footage aired. The BVI and Antigua seasons already delivered on what makes each work; Phuket is still a bet on a location's track record carrying a new, untested crew. Provisional by design, the rank reflects confidence in the setting, not the season.
