Six episodes feels almost experimental by later standards, but the compression makes every beat matter — there is no fat, no filler, no week of producer-driven plotlines. The cast reads young and earnest, and Chris Harrison reads as a host inventing his job in real time. Two decades of dating television begin here. The blueprint is drawn cleanly enough that you can still see the pencil lines.
