The summer experiment. CBS moved the fifth outing into July and gave Phil Keoghan a thirteen-leg route that ran from Santa Monica through Uruguay, southern Africa, the Russian Far East, and back across the Pacific. The casting plays heavier on long-running romantic partnerships, which gives the editing room to sit with the friction. The Tuesday slot built steady summer numbers. The show proves it travels in any season.
