The Strip provided the staging — Mandalay Bay kitchens, casino-floor stunt challenges, the buffet of culinary excess Vegas invites. The cast walked in technically ready, with the deepest pre-show resumes the franchise had recruited at the time. Padma Lakshmi hosted with Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons at the table, joined by guest judges who treated the food seriously. The season set the bar future Top Chefs have measured themselves against.
