Premise first, verdict later.
Two debuts, a new round, and the live vote back — a strong premise that still has to play out on air.
Four chairs again, live shows back.
Season thirty puts the fourth chair back and fills two of them with newcomers: country singer Riley Green and Queen Latifah. In Cut Week, which replaces the Knockouts, each coach sends two artists straight to the live shows and the rest compete for the last spot. A First-In button lets a coach claim an artist by turning first, once per round. Live shows and real-time voting return after a fully prerecorded season. Ranked provisionally on premise while the season airs.
The #30 slot.
Slot #30 of 30 in the Voice Editor's Canon. Season thirty enters the canon at the bottom as a placeholder, not a verdict. On paper the premise is stronger than the slot: four chairs again after last season's three, two first-time coaches from very different corners of music, a Cut Week that sends two artists per team straight to the live shows, and real-time voting back after a fully prerecorded cycle. Those are the conditions the canon usually rewards. None of it has been tested across a full run yet, so the season holds the thirtieth slot until the finale airs and then earns its real position.
