The Empty City.
New York as RHONY needs it wasn't available. The season shows it.
A rhythm worth tracking.
Season thirteen has a built-in problem: it was filmed when New York's social world — the very thing that gives RHONY its engine — was operating under real disruption. The city couldn't function as the show needed it to. Eboni K. Williams' addition brought a fresh editorial perspective and an ambition to engage the city's social landscape, but the season couldn't fully deliver on that ambition given its circumstances. A document of a difficult moment more than a functioning season.
The #15 slot.
Slot #15 of 15 in the Real Housewives of New York City Editor's Canon. The seasons on either side show what I ranked it against.
