Georgia

Five specialists — food and wine, fashion, culture, design, and grooming — team up each week to spend time with one nominee across metro Atlanta. The reboot keeps the makeover structure but leans hard into conversation, curiosity, and follow-through.

01The take

Conversation over transformation.

Five specialists, one nominee, one house call — and a show more interested in a person's week than a wardrobe.
02The shape of the season

Eight episodes, the founding format.

Eight episodes, one Atlanta-area nominee each week, and five specialists working in parallel — food and wine, fashion, grooming, culture, and design. The reboot keeps the original's makeover bones but spends more time on conversation than transformation, and the Fab Five's chemistry is immediate. Georgia gives the season a specific, unglamorous backdrop that grounds the whole format before the show ever leaves the state.

03Where it sits in the canon

The #01 slot.

Slot #01 of 10 in the Queer Eye Editor's Canon. Season one earns the top slot by default and by merit — it's the founding entry, but it also happens to nail the format on the first try. Atlanta and its Georgia suburbs give the show a specific place to work from, and the Fab Five's five distinct lanes — food, fashion, culture, design, grooming — combine into something that feels like a genuine ensemble rather than five separate segments stitched together. The show never overexplains its own premise; it just gets to work. Eight episodes is enough to establish a rhythm without repeating itself. Everything the franchise becomes starts here.
