Global Gauntlet.
A World Cup structure applied to home cooking — the format's most globally-minded season yet.
A rhythm worth tracking.
MasterChef: Global Gauntlet takes the show to Toronto with twenty home cooks sorted into four regional groups — Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and the Americas — in a competition structure drawn from World Cup tournament mechanics. Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich, and Tiffany Derry judge. The season is currently airing and on hiatus for FIFA World Cup scheduling. The global regional framing is the most internationally ambitious structure the US series has tried. A provisional ranking until the season completes.
The #16 slot.
Slot #16 of 16 in the MasterChef Editor's Canon. The seasons on either side show what I ranked it against.
