Series 13 (Summer 2026)

A calmer summer after last year's rulebook rewrite. Series 13 runs the established machine — Casa Amor in its usual slot, a new sleepover twist reshuffling early bombshells, and a nightly companion show, The Debrief, joining the schedule for the first time.

01The take

The machine settles back in.

A mature machine running its established rhythm — one new bombshell mechanic layered on top, with none of last summer's structural risk.
02The shape of the season

The familiar rhythm, undisturbed.

Series 13 treats Series 12's rulebook rewrite as a one-off, not a new baseline. Maya Jama returns for a fourth summer in Mallorca, leaning on a format that already works: Casa Amor lands in its usual late slot, a new sleepover twist gives early bombshells a separate villa before their first recoupling, and a nightly companion show, The Debrief, joins the schedule for the first time.

03Where it sits in the canon

The #10 slot.

Slot #10 of 13 in the Love Island UK Editor's Canon. Series 13 sits just below Series 10 because the milestone gives Series 10 an occasion this run doesn't have — both are the same competent, twist-heavy machine at full confidence, but one of them is a landmark number and the other is simply the next one along. It ranks above Series 8, though, and that comparison is about restraint: Series 13's one new mechanic, the sleepover twist, slots into the season without crowding it, while Series 8 runs several mechanics at once until they start competing with the cast for attention. A single well-placed twist beats a machine running loud, even when neither season is trying to reinvent anything.

04What to watch for

4 moments, no spoilers.

  • Week 2 · The sleepover twist

New arrivals bypass the usual bombshell entrance entirely — placed in a separate villa overnight before a recoupling decides who actually joins the main group.

  • Week 4 · Casa Amor returns

The established late-run twist lands on schedule, splitting the villa and testing the couplings the season has built up to that point.

  • Nightly · The Debrief

A new companion show follows the main episode most weeknights, giving the format its first regular after-show alongside the usual coverage.

  • Launch · Twelve islanders

The series opens with a dozen original cast members, with the villa population swelling well past that as bombshells arrive across the run.
