A rhythm worth tracking.
Season seventeen is the show's first genuine all-star run: every chef had previously earned a black jacket in their original season. That baseline changes the texture of the competition — meltdowns are less frequent, the cooking is sharper, and Ramsay's critiques operate at a different register. The first three-person finale in the show's history signals how closely the field ran at the end. The strongest entry the themed era has produced.
