A rhythm worth tracking.
The one that started it, and it shows. Season 1 runs short, shoots through a heavy soft-focus filter, and carries a budget you can see on screen. RuPaul Charles hosts a panel still working out its own grammar, with a different fashion judge beside him before Michelle Visage arrived. The cast is small and scrappy, the challenges rough-drafted. Watch it for the origin texture, not the polish — every later season's shape was sketched here first, in lower resolution.
