All-Stars

The first all-star season, and a piece of franchise lore. Fourteen returning players, cast by public vote across the first six seasons, walk back into Studio City with six years of accumulated context. The casting holds up — these are the players the early run is remembered for, slotted into a single ensemble. Every move carries seasons of prior text. The show would try the all-star format again, but the novelty of this first attempt is what makes it canonical.

Slot #02 of 27 in the Big Brother Editor's Canon. Second, doing with borrowed weight what Summer of Secrets did from scratch — a real distinction, and the reason this all-star cast keeps its edge over the newer all-star swing at #3. All-Stars beats the Second All-Stars because the format had never done this before: no prior returnee season, no public-vote casting mechanism, no precedent for what years of accumulated context would do to a house. The 2020 cast plays a cleaner, twist-lighter version of the same idea, but cleaner isn't the same as first. Everything the franchise's later legends-in-one-house seasons attempt, this one attempted with no map to follow.
